Just to thank you for all your help with our safari to Kruger park and our stay at Outlook lodge the whole holiday went so smoothly from start to end.  We had a great time on safari with our guide Kylie who was superb with her knowledge and information on all the wildlife as was all of the staff from Outlook safari. everyone made us feel welcome and nothing was any trouble to them. Francois at Outlook lodge was fantastic and took us to the lakeside shopping centre and spent time with us.

Thanks again

The service I received from your staff during the booking process was superb.  My itinerary changed several times and they were more than understanding and accommodating.  The transfers we had were good and the stay at the Royal Livingstone Hotel was great, the only suggestion I would have is to add free WiFi to the rooms and to have complimentary bottled water.  It is a very expensive hotel and we felt that we were being charged for petty items.

December 2011
We were happy with the booking service you offered, both for the accommodation at the Royal Livingstone Hotel and for the airport transfers.
As for the hotel itself, it was really special, and possibly the nicest place we have stayed.  The location was superb, the staff friendly, and the food was of the highest standard, especially the breakfast spread.
The animals roaming free in the grounds was an extra bonus.
Personally, I found the room a bit dark (with its colonial decor) but that is a minor quibble.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would recommend it to others.

A memorable trip for many reasons; the Royal Portfolio Trio was a masterstroke. We were treated so well at all properties – the Biden’s have really created something special. We read some interesting comments about the One & Only just before leaving including the description “ailing”!  However, we found it splendid – wonderful accommodation and very helpful and attentive staff; it was great to be on the Waterfront.
We had one set back when Patricia had a nasty fall at Cape Town airport on the way to La Residence – 5 hours in A&E in a clinic in Belville!
However, the team at La Residence were magnificent and made our stay truly restful – as did Birkenhead House also. Patricia has made a very good recovery but faces a fair amount of dental work next year. Strangely, it has made us even more determined to return in 2012!
Thank you for all your hard work and your advice; if we do return it will be, I am sure, to the same destinations! I will, as usual, revert to you in mid-January when we have had time to give 2012 some more thought.
With very best regards,
Chris Bull

My experience with Island-Safari was great.  Claudia was able to answer all of my questions and the booking went smoothly.  My only complaint would be that when I asked about transfer times out of Gunn’s camp I was told around lunch, and booked a 1pm road transfer from the airport with another company.  Unfortunately as we were flying to Kasane it was and always is an early morning (7am) flight due to the heat.  There must have been some communications between the two companies and our transfer remained smooth with no problems, however it would have been nice to know in advance.
Gunn’s camp itself was lovely.  Our safe didn’t work in the tent and a replacement was not provided, we were told to just use the key and lock the cupboard door, not entirely the safest.  The staff were wonderful and helpful and it was nice just being in a small camp with only 4 couples.

Thanks for your email.   We are very pleased to have the opportunity to provide positive feedback from our terrific holiday experience.
Booking – from start to finish Mandy was a great help with queries being answered in full and very promptly – she certainly made our holiday planning easy and was an absolute pleasure to deal with!  We were given all the information we could have wished for.  Your Bookkeeping Department also promptly confirmed receipt of our payments.
Mfuwe Lodge – nothing but praise!  From the minute we arrived to the minute we left we were made to feel welcome; special and pampered!  Every person we interacted with was friendly, informative and helpful; our accommodation beautiful and all meals tasty and varied.  My niece and I even had a session at the Spa which was a real treat.  Our Guide, James, was a treasure – his knowledge of bird life gave us all a new interest and he was very patient with our numerous questions.  The wildlife we saw up close was incredible – including lion and leopard – and these on more than one occasion!   James ensured we felt safe at all times and he is a great asset!  The elephant wandering around the Lodge are something else and the staff at the Lodge during the elephant visits ensure you enjoy the experience while maintaining your safety.
We have a hundreds of great photographs from this trip and my teenage niece and nephew have now returned to Australia having thoroughly enjoyed their first trip to Africa.
We hope to make another visit to Mfuwe in the future and would certainly make our booking through your organization again.
Kind regards and thanks to all

My name is Amy Crump , and my fiancée and I just returned home after a wonderful weeklong safari at Lebala and Lagoon camps in Botswana , arranged by Mandy. I wanted to be sure to relay to you what a superb job Mandy did in helping me to arrange the safari, and in answering numerous questions I had just before the trip. ( A while back, I asked if she could please provide me with her supervisor ’ s e-mail because I really felt that you should know what a great job she is doing .) She would typically answer my questions within just a few minutes of me writing to her, and went through numerous options for me as I was trying to pick a safari combination that was best for me and my fiancée . We looked at booking our trip through several different safari companies, but Mandy ’ s genuinely helpful e-mail responses (not just a cut-and-paste standard response like the other companies) made a big difference for us.

We couldn ’ t have been happier with how the trip turned out - - the camps were stunning, the guides and staff were outstanding, and we were quite lucky to have excellent game-viewing opportunities at both camps. I ’ ll be sure to leave more positive feedback in your formal survey , which came to me in an e-mail yesterday.

Many thanks again to Mandy and your team for the great support and wonderful vacation.

Best regards
Amy Crump

We had a fantastic time. Our stay at Kapama River Lodge was an incredible and amazing experience. We highly recommend the Kapama River Lodge for a great safari experience.

My experience with island-safari was also a great one. Louise was a pleasure to work with and made our planning very easy. She was available to answer all questions and make me feel at ease booking our vacation. I also felt your rates were fantastic compared to any other.

Thank you all so much! We had a really great experience all around.

The service you received from Island-Safari.com staff during the booking process and during your tour. This is the second trip we have booked through Island Safari and the second time we worked with Mandy to book it. She has done a great job both times. This time we had a lot of questions and Mandy did great research and organized a truly enjoyable trip. We will work with her again.

The transfers you had. transfers were all done in a fast and efficient manner

Your stay at Muchenje Safari Lodge The new managers here are good hosts, the lodge and tents have a great view over the river and we had fun rides into Chobe national park.

Your stay at Lagoon Camp Lagoon camp was one of our best lodge stays in all of our trips. the staff were friendly and helpful, and our cabin (the family tent) was great. our guide and tracker (Bali and James) did a great job and we thoroughly enjoyed every day's drives. Our guide went out of his way even offering mid-day drives to spend time tracking animals we wanted to see.

I made the initial contact with Mandy. I could not fault her service to us. Her response was immediate, taking into account that we live on a remote island in the Solomon Islands with a dodgey (at times ) internet connection, that alone was remarkable.
She coped with the fact that we were quite late in booking and that I requested changes along the way.
Her recommendations (and our final itinerary) were very suitable for us, especially since my initial request was for Okavango Delta only. Mandy gave us an excellent spread of destinations with a comprehensive look at the different types of animal experiences available. Her emails were always personable and cheery and she really made us very enthusiastic about our trip. She obviously did an excellent job with the ground work because we were provided with every service promised, not one hitch was experienced. I have already passed on Mandy’s details and will continue to do so to other potential African adventurers.

The transfers you had. All the personel involved were were excellent, on time, well trained and happy to see us. The vehicles, both land and air were were very well maintained, clean and often quite new. No problems at all.

Your stay at The Safari Club SA Very pleasant oasis in the city. I must say we were preparing ourselves for mounted animal heads and big game hunters, but it could not have been more different. Lovely staff,(really went out of their way when we had to send an urgent email) delightfully old world decor, service was excellent, breakfast perfect. The internet connection was not working which usually would not bother us, but is probably something they should get operational.

Your stay at Victoria Falls Hotel Vic Falls Hotel is every bit as majestic and magnificent as it was in 1974. We loved every bit of the experience. Unfortunately I picked up a bacterial stomach infection at this stage (who knows how or where) and it took me a few days to diagnose since the symptoms were confusing. I treated it with antibiotics once it became clear what it was.

Your stay at Muchenje Safari Lodge Beautiful room and setting, great bar and dining room. Excellent game viewing along the river and the boat trip was an absolute must. (full day trip on second day) By the time we departed I was feeling very ill from the “bug” mentioned above, however had not missed any activities.

Your stay at Lebala Camp They carried me into this camp, I was not in good shape. Beautiful location, staff could not have done more nor been more helpful and understanding. I tried to do the game trips but had to miss two of them in the end. (3 cheetas on one trip) However Grant enjoyed them all. This camp had the least prolific game and a lot of time was spent tracking with no result, but still lots of really great experiences. I got onto antibiotics – we carried a small pharmacy with us - and my recovery was swift. Grant started showing the same symptoms and we dosed him up immediately, so he only suffered for a day and a half.(Nasty virulent little bacteria!) I loved the accommodation. Very breezy and spacious. The bath was a joy especially when I was feeling horrid. Excellent staff and food, I really liked the gathering around the campfire.

Your stay at Stanley's Camp This was our favorite. The green of the Delta was different and gave a new light for photography. The accommodation was very pleasant, so close to the lagoon but virtually no insects at all. I did not see a mosquito on the entire trip, something that really amazed me! Harry the Chef is a total talent and has trained his staff impeccably. Our guide was Solomon (Solly) and he was such fun but really put himself out for us. We were mostly alone in the vehicle and had fabulous lion, leopard and wild dog experiences along with many other animals and birds. The staff service at all the lodges was really excellent, but Stanley’s staff were something else. There was a freshness and very happy attitude, they genuinely enjoyed the interaction with guests. We were most surprised to find internet –  useable and hassle free. The elephant walk experience was something else! Overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and although I mention the ill health, it was not a major issue, just something that happened and we dealt with it.

I would like to thank Mandy or whoever for making sure that our boarding passes (done by our office) got to us at Safari Lodge (services above and beyond!) Best Wishes

I was most pleased with the service I received and the bookings I made through you.   The transfers were fine. The Ilala Lodge was an excellent accommodation with a fine breakfast and restaurant.   It certainly met and even exceeded my expectations.
I have nothing but good things to say about my experience in Victoria Falls.  It was a highlight of my southern Africa trip.
Thank you.

I don’t know how to express my self regarding our stay at The Royal Livingstone Hotel.
I was feeling it since I started doing the bookings with you and I was right: it was great! Amazing!
The booking and all the information provided by Island Safari were perfect. I always had fast and correct answer. The team always been kind with me, even if I was changing my mind several times in a day regarding an extra activity or if I was answering several days after to an information requested by the hotel.
I received a 5 stars service by Island Safari and I would like to thanks all of you for giving me such a quality service (I’ve been a travel agent in the past and I know it’s not easy every day).
The transfers were great too. We had nice drivers both way, giving us a lot of information about the area, the country, the culture. They both took care of our luggage, welcomed us with a great smile and a lot of kindness. They’ve been also very patient and very nice with our 2 little girls, treating them like Princess. A very big thanks to our both amazing drivers.
Concerning our stay, it was unbelievable, amazing, extraordinary! What a great time we had. The all hotel staff treated us like if we were their only customers. I was simply speechless during my stay. Amazing people, amazing place!
The only negative part of it is the rooms cleaning: we couldn’t walk barefoot in our rooms without having to wash them due to the fact the floor never been washed, but it’s nothing compare to all the good, nice and lovely kindness we get there.
One more time, thank you very, very much for everything and hope to be able to book another trip with you in a close future.
Kind regards,
Gaël Lempereur

It was our pleasure to plan our tour with you and spend a very nice and relaxing time. Our special thanks go to Mandy. She has done a terrific job and was always available if we had questions or requests during the phase of planning the trip.
The service we got from Mandy was excellent. As we have expressed this also to many friends of us, we were asked several times for the contact details. We happily provided Mandy’s details on to them.
Please find below a brief comment on your topic list:

The service you received from Island-Safari.com staff during the booking process and during your tour. As we already said, the planning and booking was excellent. During the tour we did not have direct contact to island-safari people but the services organised by you were perfect.

The transfers you had. Everything went smooth

Your stay at Sango Camp In our review we rate Sango Safari Camp as number one of the places we stayed at. Accommodation, food, service, game drives, mokoro tour and so on, are perfect. Staff and guides are helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the stay very much.

Your stay at Muchenje Safari Lodge Muchenje Safari Lodge is rated number three out of the places we stayed. The Lodge needs a little renovation. Nevertheless we have no reason to complain at all. Staff and guides are helpful and friendly.

Your stay at Elephant Camp Elephant Camp is the clear number two from our point of view. In terms of service and luxury it is even number one. If someone likes to stay outside of the centre of Victoria Falls this is an excellent place. We highly recommend it.

Your stay at The Safari Club SA Ok for the purpose of an overnight stay.

Your stay at Matemo Island Resort

The management is pretty new in this property. They started mid October. The rating in our “charts” is equal to Muchenje a number three. The island and the resort are beautiful. We did also like the beach. The staff is very friendly. However many of them are hardly English speaking. But one can get along. Management did also emphasise to quality of the chef’s cooking which we did not agree. Well this is a matter of taste and we do not complain.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to Mandy and all the staff of island-safari.com which do work “behind the curtain”. It was a pleasure travelling with you.

The whole trip was excellent, please see below for the individual points, any questions then drop me a note,

The service you received from Island-Safari.com staff during the booking process and during your tour. The whole reservation process was extremely good from initial discussion on the possible itinerary right through to the payment process via you on-ine payments system. There was one minor glitch on the pricing on one part of the tour but this luckily resolved in our favour. Any question including the odd query on pick up times and vouchers were quickly answered and I would not hesitate to recommend your services to anyone I know who is considering travelling in your part of the world. The arrangements ran very smoothly and so we in fact had no need to consult with yourselves during the tour.

The transfers you had. The transfer agents were all impeccably on time and I have to particularly congratulate delta air - to provide light aircraft transfers in as timely a fashion as we experienced was truly remarkable. The planes themselves are fine for the flights involved, albeit somewhat warm. All ground transfers were also 100% with the different vehicles there to meet us at the various border crossings with no delays a all.

Your stay at Victoria Falls Hotel The Victoria Falls Hotel was much as we remembered from our previous visit some years earlier - albeit the hotel could do with significant renovation in some areas, especially the bathrooms. I did in fact have to complain about our initial room as there was a problem with the air conditioner in that it was both noisy and leaking water on to/under the carpet - this was eventually resolved satisfactorarily but I had to make several visits to the desk before we were moved. The staff and food were very good, especially breakfast.

We actually took a private tour of the falls and I would recommend this as for the extra US$17 that it cost above the standard admission it was well worth it - if only to circumnavigate the hawkers who are all along the walk from the hotel to the falls

We had also pre-arranged to go on the lion encounter which is offered on both the Zimbabwe and Zambia sides of the falls and I would heartily recommend this to anyone staying in the area.

Your stay at Zambezi Queen All round excellent but with a few issues to point out for future travellers - the lack of air conditioning in the cabins can make sleeping quite difficult if you are there when it is hot (and it was while we were there). The number of times you have to queue to go in and out of Namibia/Botswana is a little tedious and they could do with making alternate arrangements if possible. The accomodation itself is of a good standard and the staff are all excellent and if elephant and hippose are your thing then this is a trip for you.

Your stay at Savute Safari Lodge The lodge, the food, the staff and the guides are all first class. The game viewing at the time of year was excellent - seeing leopard in the daytime is always a great bonus - but the park will need to do some work on the roads in the park since the water which has returned has made getting about slightly tricky. Again the lack of air conditioning should be a consideration for anyone who has trouble sleeping in the heat.

Your stay at Eagle Island Camp A great time to see the delta with just enough water left to allow all of the boat trips to operate. The staff once again were all first class but I would probably say that the food could be better and it would rate lower than the other two on this score - that said for the middle of nowhere it was still pretty good. I would place it top of anyone's list who is going to the delta for the simple reason that the included helicopter 'doors off' flight over the delta is an absolute highlight and not to be missed,

everything was fine. We thank you again very much for your help and support in changing the arrival dates in the Royal Livingstone Hotel due to our missing the plane in Johannesburg we arrived one day later and hotel booking and transfer booking had to be changed from your side.

Thank you for seeking my feedback! I wanted to commend your staff person, Liza, for all of her help with my reservation. Despite a number of questions and changes to my travel plans, she was able to help me each step of the way.

One piece of feedback is that the room rates at the Royal Livingstone Hotel are much higher than I would be willing to pay the next time I come to visit. The breakfast was excellent. Dinner was not as good - though the Zambian dessert was very yummy.

I very much enjoyed my stay - thank you again for your help.

- The service I received from Island-Safari staff during the booking process and during your tour.
Excellent. Mandy looked after our trip very well from the very beginning (when I sent her an inquiry) through the end. She was very quick to respond any questions I had no matter how trivial it was. The booklet she sent us was very helpful, especially the "what to bring" section as it was our first trip to Africa for safari and we had little idea what to bring otherwise. The South African low cost airline 1time that she recommended was excellent. We used not only the flights between Jo'burg and Livingston, but also two other flights within southern Africa - thanks to Mandy, we saved lots without compromising the quality of flights.

- The transports we had.

All good, all transports were extremely well organised. The only thing I'd mention is the light weight aircraft from Kasane to Livingstone: we nearly fell ill, as the aircraft was unusually small and we were not used to it. The flight was only 20 minutes or so - I would have been seriously sick if I had stayed in the aircraft another 10 min. I would choose a ground transport for the route next time even if it takes more time.

- Island of Siankaba
It was the most amazing place I stayed. I loved everything: very kind, helpful and charming people, very well-equipped beautiful room (with a lovely balcony), Mariah's massage, lovely pool, outstanding food, sundowners boat and canoe.... I will definitely go back. As I mentioned, food was remarkably good. The pork dish on the first night was unforgettable. Lunch was always good too. The lodge is located in an amazingly tranquil place, although it had everything we needed to stay very comfortably. We stayed there for two nights, but we would love to stay a bit longer next time.

- Muchenje Safari Lodge
Excellent. We had lovely chat with Joy and Robert who run the lodge. Safari tours were the most amazing experience in my life. The rangers were very knowledgeable and reliable. Morning safari starts at 5:30 (we needed to be at the dining area at 5:15) but that wasn't a problem at all. The schedule was very tight and we didn't sleep much as we wanted to take advantage of our short stay (two nights), but it was not tiring at all. The only problem of Muchenje was that it was very hot in the lodge. Unlike Siankaba where the temperature drops significantly at night, it was hot in Muchenje throughout the night, but we could not open the door as baboons could come in! It was totally understandable, but it was very hot and uncomfortable.

Please do let me know if you need anything else.
Kind regards,
Aya Suzuki

In regards to your requested feedback:

The service you received from Island-Safari.com staff during the booking process and during your tour.

The service was great, everything was catered for as per itinerary given before we left.

The transfers you had.

All transfer flights were on time and we did not experience long waits at the airports that could have been used as holiday time.

Your stay at Pom Pom Camp

We especially enjoyed our stay at the Pom Pom camp. The staff was great and the meals excellent. The only complaint could be that the deckchairs at the swimming pool could be upgraded.
Thank you to Carien our liaison for making the booking very effortless.

I don't often reply to requests for feed-back, but in this case I must!
Our experience has been amazing.
Please thank Elize at Island Safari for her efficient professional help. Having 2 days at the different camps with a different focus in each worked out well and the transfer was seamless and no time was wasted waiting around.
Our time at Moremi crossing and Pom Pom was great. The staff was both pleasant and helpful and the guides outstanding with their high level of knowledge, especially for birders among us, a wonderful addition.

October 2011
The service from Mandy during the booking process was perfect. She resolved all our problems and doubts practically on line. And when you reserved one trip by Internet without knowledge about the travel agency this is very important.
The transfers was also perfect. Everybody was waiting for us in all the places. The only thing we want to say you is that the first plane of Delta Air (from Maun to Kashawe) was very old and unconfortable. I hurt my shoulder because the acces to the aircraft was too high and they didn't have stairs to climb.
Delta Bell was very good.
Sango was very special. The treatment was excellent. The staff and the guides was the best of the trip. The Moremi and the Kwai concession was wonderful.
Odballs' Camp was better than expected. Perhaps the activities are a bit monotonous. And it would be good they removed the vegetation under the tents. I found a snake in my bathroom! But, in general, it was an exciting experience.
The rooms at Mowana Lodge were the best although the service was not up to expectations. However, the safaris was marvellous.
And Zambezi Sun was very good. The tour to the Livingstone Island and the possibility of being at The Devil's Pool was fantastic. And could go to the falls for free anytime is a value very interenting.
As a conclusion, we are delighted with the trip and we'll recomend Island Safari to our friends.

1.      The service you received from Island-Safari.com staff during the booking process and during your tour. Excellent!!!
2.      Stay at Bazaruto Lodge
The staff of Bazaruto Lodge is very friendly and helpfull but as an average price/performance do not meet. Too expensive in relation to what is offered.
I completed a questionnaire on the spot but the choice of answers was to limited to give a detailed opinion.
On a scale 1 – 10 (1 lousy – 10 excellent) I would rate as follows
·         Friendly helpful staff   9
·         Skilled staff 6 (not filling your wineglass when empty, not knowing the etiquette when to remove a plate or not to mention a few examples)
·         Rooms 7
·         Towels 3 (not enough and too small and pool towels totally worn out)
·         Cleanness of the rooms 8
·         Food   5 (just buffets which is fine for cold food, but hot food chilles very quickly, vegetables loose their bite, meat turns from medium rare into overwelldone and other than expected limited seafood)
·         Drinks  alcohol was not included, but paying for bottled water is ridiculous. It gets even more ridiculous because it is strongly advised not to drink the tap water. Or getting charged for a decent cup of coffee in stead of the pot that is on the breakfast-dinnertable for over an hour already.
·         Activities  7
·         Spa   far too expensive
·         Curioshop  overpriced
·         Quiet  1 (adjacent to the Lodge some 12 villa’s are under construction so wake up call by heavy duty machines at 06H00 en sundowners cheared up with crying chain saws up to 20H00
·         Pristine and clean 8 for hotel area; 1 for hotel surroundings. Cans and bottles and trash everywhere
·         Helpful finding parking facilities for guests arriving by car at Vilanculos 1, except for the message that we could park for USD11,00 per hour in town but where??. Fortunately it turned out that we could park for M11,70/hour at the airport
If it would have been half the price we paid, one can not expect better than above, but that is not the case.
Despite we have enjoyed our stay but it is very unlikely that we would choose Bazaruto Lodge a next time.
Hope this helps,
Kind regards,
Maya Oosterhoff

October 2011
It's difficult to believe we've been back from S Africa for 2 weeks now.
We had a fabulous holiday. We stayed with friends in Cape Town and during the first week
did the whale trail in De Hoop nature reserve. Highly recommended!
We then spent a weekend with more friends in Plett, and flew from George to Joburg.
Your rep met us in Joburg, and efficiently saw us on to our Maun flight.
Being met by a rep made transfere so easy, we were met by Flicker in Maun and he too was fantastic.
We were flown to Oddballs by an inspirational female piolet, unfortunately I can't remember her name.
The staff at Oddballs Enclave were all so warm and welcoming. We really felt at home there, KT does a fantastic job of managing the camp in a relaxed and informal way. The tents and beds were comfortable,
and the'en suite' an experience! We loved it! Meals were of a very high standard.
Our guide was Philloman, we had some really memorable walks with him. We particularly enjoy bird watching, and he is an expert with so much local knowledge. It was very sad leaving Oddballs Enclave.
We were flown to Sango by a pilot who appeared very young, he was a bit casual and relaxed in his approach, which didn't really inspire confidence in those of us who aren't used to small aircraft.
The welcome at Sango was second to none, a traditional A frican musical welcome.
Again it is difficult to fault the camp. The tents were comfortable, and staff efficient and friendly.
Meals, again, were terrific, and we loved the way cooler boxes were taken with us on trips out, for morning coffee and sundowners.Flights back were uneventful, we then had a couple of days in Cape town and wine areas.
Claudia from Island Safari was extremely helpful. despite the fact that I kept changing my mind!
Even tho she is miles away, our 'on line' chats were informative and she appeared to know exectly what I wanted. The end result of all that planning was a fantastic holiday of a life time, I would have no hesitation in recommending IslandSafari to anyone.
With best wishes,
Isabel McLaughlin

The service you received from Island-Safari.com staff during the booking process and during your tour.
Louise was amazing, she constructed an excellent tour and although occasionally i felt i was left waiting for replies the service was very good.
Payment was a little scary as every time i used my credit card i got security phone calls from my credit card company and the card became blocked - this did cause me to panic rather a couple of weeks before i travelled when i had sent a coupld of emails with no response at first, however, this was perhaps my visa company being a little too secure - as all was well in the end!!!
The transfers you had.
These were all excellent, all turned up on time and without hiccup.
Your tour with Land & Lake Safaris
This was great, although the hotel in Lusaka seemed confused by the voucher and on the second visit wanted to "give me the rate" and were surprised that it was already paid, eventually however they accepted the voucher.  Thornicroft was great although we felt that a night safari every day was too much, we also perhaps should have had 3 nights not 4 here.
Your stay at Zambezi Sun Resort Hotel This was good although aspects of the service there wasn't as speedy as it could have been,  It was great using the facilities of the Royal Livingstone however!  And the location was fantastic Your stay at Elephant Valley Lodge This was really enjoyable, despite not being that close to the park - 30 mins away, the guide was excellent.  Only down side here was the lodge had a new vehicle with high backed seats, the use of this vehicle shoul dhave been rotated amongst different groups - we had it for 3 days which was un fair - this has been fed back to the manager.
Below is the feedback i already sent to Louise, and some info on visas which you may find useful
A bit of feedback - you were probably right perhaps we should have had the middle 2 nights in Zimbabwe rather than Zambezi sun - more so to reduce the number of visas we ended up paying for, but it was fine and we had a good rest at Zambezi sun - and made good use of the facilities at the Royal Livingstone next door!!!

FYI - and i will email lonely planet as their info was very out of date - a single visa to Zambia is 50 US dollars, double is 80.  They don't do a multi entry. So when we went to Zimbabwe and back for about 7 hours we ended up paying another 50 US dollars to re-enter Zambia.  Although at this point they didn't charge Renn as he was on an Irish passport - even though they charged us both in Lusaka!

To enter Zimbabwe even for less than a day was 55 US dollars each.

We preferred Elephant Valley to Thornicroft although enjoyed both very much, we also appreciated the flexibilty of Elephant Valley - happy to swap a later start boat safari with a very early game drive on request.
I was very glad of our location in Zambezi sun - we were glad not to be staying in livingstone
many thanks for a brilliant holiday, and i will both use you again and recommend you to friends

So, we are all back, safe and delighted.
Everything ran wonderfully well, thanks your good organization.
It was just great. We return with over 1300 photos, 1 3/4 hour film, and unforgetable souvenirs.
Many thanks to you and to all the people who to care of us and arrange to make this tripe so enjoyable to us.
Now, for you to know:
Delta Camp : fantastic management, excellent service, excellent food. Old lodge but very well located and maintained. Very good guides
Mapula lodge : very nice bungalows, middle management (she is living soon),  service without mood, food  ordinary, fantastic guides, wonderful location.
Chobe safari lodge : excellent modern lodge, perfectly anonymus. Good service, good food, excellent guides and games services. Beautiful location.
Victoria falls hotel : very well restaured even if I regret the lost of the old decoration in som rooms I have seen 14 years ago. Excellent hotel, very good food. One negatif point: the service does not meet anymore the standard  of the hotel.
- the cross of the Botswana-Zimbabwe board took us over 2 hours. So we had to change the programm accordingly. No problem we just had a some what more hectic programm afterwards.
- At the Chobe safari lodge the 2 tours on the Chobe River were excatly the same, but we manage to have them at a different time of the day, so everything OK. The two games tours were also the same ( along the river) but we manage to change the area of the second one. So everything OK
- Air Delta : excellent pilot ( I am myself a private pilote), no problem at all, aircraft is getting quite old but we are all safe, not as the ones of Air Moremi.
- Safari Club Johannesburg : They are just delightful. Nice rooms, good noisy location, excellent service, nice rooms and over all a cleanless I have rarely met. They are always ready to help you. The system of self service at the bar is unique.
Really a place to recommand. We had an excellent 6 hours tour of Joburg with Thokazani tourist guides which gave us a good overview of the city.
- BA flights, nothing to say. Standard as usual.
Many thanks to you. I won't miss to recommand your agency to anybody wishing to visit this part of Africa.
Very best regards,
Charles-Philippe Jonckheere

October 2011
I hope you are well, we are now back from our magnific trip in Namibia. We had a wonderful time, nice weather, a lot of animals and a very good guide ( I will send you another e-mail concerning our appreciation on our guide Charle).
On top of our very busy itinerary and long days, we were able to do a half day of 4X4 on the sand dunes, went sea kayaking with the seals and horseback riding to see the sunset. We really loved every minute of our vacation. Namibia is a very nice country to visit.

About our lodges, we espacially loved Onguma Bush Camp (very good food), especially that we got one of there new oval rooms that just opened 2 months ago, big, very clean and very nice.
Etendeka, we loved where the lodge was situated, the outside bathroom and the food was excellent.
Mowani, what is not to like about this magnific place in the rocks, and the excellent food.
Canon village, was bigger then what we are usually looking for, but very nice lodge, nice pool and very good food
And the Camelthorn was an ecellent place to finish our trip, especially that we were the only guest in the lodge for that night and again excellent food, we were kind of sad that we didn't stay there for two nights.

We also appreciated Okaukuejo, Kavita Lion Lodge and Opuwo.

About Desert Homestead, we thought tha the lodge was nicely located, to bad we didn't had hot water for two days, and the meat at dinner time was not eatable and the satff a bit desorganize. But the lodge own a stable right next to the lodge where we went horseback riding to see the sunset. Having owned a horse for 25 years and done show jumpping, I was empressed on how well the horses were kept. The stables were very clean and the horses very well fead and clean. I would recommend this place for there stables and horses for any of your clients who wants to make sure that they will not endup in a place where the horses are not well being taken care of and where they only have bones and skin.

We will defenetly visit South Africa in the next two years, so I will contact you to book another magnificent vacation like the one we just did.

Thank you again

Our whole trip was absolutely fantastic (too short of course) the staff we all wonderful everywhere we went.
The service in  the beginning with Mandy was the very best she was so patient with me she was wonderful.
No problems with transfers all smooth and the staff we great.
The Kingdom hotel was great though I could not take a souvenir chip from the casino which was a real shame as I collect chips from different places.
Mowana safari lodge was also really nice on one of our afternoon tours we saw a beautiful leopard by the side of the road that was AWESOME yay.
Camp Savuti was the best the staff were wonderful and looked after us so well. I asked for a bonfire on our last night and were rewarded with singing and dancing from the staff the best.
we had elephant coming through the camp WOW!!!!!
Oddballs' Camp was a special place with hippos coming out at night and munching on the grass by our tent, we had a elephant at the back of our tent eating the tree and as he was doing that the tree was scrapping on our tent we could have reached out and touched him, we saw more animals in camp than on our mokoros and the walks on the islands. Again a great spot.
I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants the best Africa has to offer.
Next time I go I will be contacting you again, hopefully Kenya next in a couple of years.

October 2011
Sorry for my belated response.  I've had a very busy time at work since returning from my wonderful safari vacation.
I did want to pass along my very enthusiastic feedback on the trip:
-- Elize was very helpful during the booking process.  Worked to rearrange the itinerary to accommodate the dates and lodges I wanted, and made helpful suggestions to accommodate my preferences and budget.  Prompt email responses throughout.
-- Transfers worked seamlessly.  It was a little nervewracking to simply show up at the airport in countries with very limited infrastructure, and to trust that someone would be there to meet you.  The land-and-water crossing of the border between Zambia and Botswana had me especially nervous.  But the lodge staff and the other staf contracted by Island Safari did a great job, and everything went exactly to plan.  At each lodge, they confirmed my light aircraft transfer the day before departure, so we were able to plan timings accordingly, and there were never any problems.  The aircraft pilots were very professional and friendly.  All the staff helped with my bags at every point along the way.
-- Sindabezi was BEAUTIFUL.  A real island sanctuary, with very friendly staff.  The sunset riverboat cruise with sundowner drinks is a memory I'll treasure -- seeing a whole family of elephants cross from island to island as the sun set over the Zambezi and I enjoyed a nice glass of wine.  Perfection.  Very good meals, and very nice rooms.  The game drive through the nearby Mosi Oa Tunya national park was also much more worthwhile than I thought; saw lots of animals.  I wish the staff had explained more about each of the activity options when asking me to select my activities for the two days.  If I had known what a special and unique opportunity the lunch/dinner on Livingstone Island was, I would definitely have signed up for that.  I was really sorry to have missed that chance.
-- Xakanaxa Camp was wonderful.  It had been recommended to me by a friend, and it lived up to her praises.  Really charming staff -- Barbara and her husband, and Letty were particularly memorable.  This is where I had the best, most elaborate meals of my trip.  Delicious steak one night.  Wonderful omelette bar for brunch every day.  And the atmosphere at the candle-lit group meals was magical.  Great to get to eat with the staff and chat with them.  Ngandi was a very good guide.  One day, he raced across the reserve to get us in position in time to join a leopard sighting he heard about over the radio.  We got there just in time to see the leopard come down from the tree and cross right behind our vehicle.  Got amazing pictures.  A highlight of the trip.
-- Linyanti Bush Camp was the game drive highlight of my whole safari.  Isaac has got to be the best guide in Africa.  Flawless English and polished customer service, encyclopedic knowledge of the bush and its flora and fauna.  But, more importantly, an infectious passion for the bush and genuine friendliness toward the guests.  Each drive was an adventure.  Definitely worth staying here for the experience of a camp in a private concession, with off-road drives, walking safaris, and night drives.  On one night drive, we saw a lion eating an elephant kill, a leopard dragging a fresh impala kill up a tree, and a porcupine crossing our path.  Amazing!  I don't know how Isaac manages to spot all these animals with so little light, amid such a vast landscape.  He's got a gift!  The accommodations here were simpler than at the other two lodges, but still very comfortable.  It got hot in the tents during the mid-day siesta.  It would be much nicer if they could add electric fans to the tents.  Meals were also simpler, but very, very tasty, and served by very warm and friendly staff.  It was also fun to feel a little bit more "in the middle of the bush" in this camp than the previous two.  Elephants and hippos walked right by my tent.  Felt like a real adventure!
I can't say enough about this wonderful vacation.  I'm working in Afghanistan for the year in a very stressful job.  Because of the working conditions, my employer gives us five vacations with paid airfare over the course of the year.  Of the four international trips I've taken this year, this one was by far the most exciting, unique, magical, and truly relaxing.  I came back to work in Afghanistan really refreshed.  It was also by far the most money I've ever spent on a vacation or travel experience, but I have to say it was worth every penny.  I would recommend these lodges and Island-Safari to anyone who asks.
Thanks again!

With the planning help, bookings and transfers made by you Elize, we can only say that they functioned efficiently, very professionally and with kindness; the only thing one could fault was that the transport from the Zimbabwe/Botswana border to the Mowana Safari Lodge failed to turn up, but we got an alternative lift from another safari-related car that took us to the Lodge – really no problem.

The best part of the trip was the stay at the Pom Pom Camp – excellent! Apart from the safari trips during the day, good food and the agreeable camp atmosphere close to nature, the evenings were well organised to provide the maximum social contact between those on safari and the local staff. Very rewarding and memorable.

Although an entirely different atmosphere and obviously not the same camp contact with other people and the guides etc. experienced at the Pom Pom, the Mowana Safari Lodge was well managed, cheerful and we have no major complaints. One thing was noticeable and that involved the number of activities available – apart from the early morning safari and the Sunset voyage on the Chobe River (both very good), there were very few other activities available apart from the Namibian village visit which was not considered to be of much interest to tourists like ourselves and not much enthusiasm was shown  – we would have liked to have had the experience although we would not have had enough time.

So, once again, many thanks and hopefully we may find ourselves back in southern Africa.

Kind regards,
John and Maria Smellie

I really had a wonderful stay in Botswana and I'm really satisfied with the support I received from Elize, from the tour definition, to the selection of the locations, to the reservations: everything was perfect.
All the lodges provided a wonderful experience, to me the best was the Nxai Pan, when we were lucky to be the only guests and therefore we were treated as being in a family. Food was excellent and the guides were very professional and did their best to offer memorable game drives (we spot a leopard just few meters from the jeep).
Moremi Crossing is in a beautiful location, mokoro experience is the best you can get, foot tracking is exciting though you don't meet any big cat, still the impression to be on foot into the wild is thrilling.
In Kanana, which actually lays in a wonderful location, the water activities and the heronry are stunning, but there're no big cats in the area, therefore drives were not as satisfactory as they could be.
Mowana Safari lodge is also based in a very nice location, it is a big hotel, therefore you miss the "into the wild" experience, though rooms are really spacious and confortable, also food is good quality even if it's buffet style. The Chobe itself is a must, seeing elephants crossing the river at dusk is a memorable experience I'll never forget.
Zambesi Sun is even better then what I expected: the location is absolutely fantastic, you just go on foot to the waterfalls and I highly recommend to take the Livingstone Island tour, which brings you up to the ridge of the waterfall: looking down 120mt to see the rainbow that crosses your head is simply fantastic.

Many thanks for your support and a big thank you to Elize.
I'll put this review in Tripadvisor as well, rating your agency very well.

The service you received from Island-Safari.com staff during the booking
process and during your tour.
Honestly perfect. Elize managed all my requests quickly and she was able to
find the best accomodations according to my budget.
The transfers you had Every transfer was on time and free of troubles. Well, small charters don't match very well with my fear of the heights, but this is not your fault...
Your stay at Moremi Crossing our stay was very good either for the place or for the staff. In fact, when the day after our arrival it was offered to move us to Gunn's, we decided to refuse.
Your stay at Pom Pom Camp Probably the best. The quality of the guides during the whole trip was very high, but at Pom Pom it was over the top. On most of the activities we were just two guests in each car and we spotted almost everything existing in the Delta
Your stay at Elephant Valley Lodge Less 'wild' than the rest, but it was expected. Good service and wonderful food. Game drives were slightly crowdy (up to 10 persons/car), but Chobe was so full of wildlife that everyone was able to get the pictures he was looking for. High value/price ratio
Your stay at Chundukwa River Lodge The suggestion from Elize to stay out of Livingstone was ideal: quiet lodge, nice setting and friendly staff. We really appreciated the support we had finding the best activities at the Falls

The trip was wonderful , and everything that Louise lined up worked perfectly , my only let down was Kapama River Lodge, while the lodge was very nice, there were no animals , as Elephant Lodge had thousands more and Kampama  , really had only a very very few

First of all I would like to thank Claudia for her availability, professionalism and patience. The trip has been wonderful and the organization has been simply perfect.

I added some comments for each place.

The transfers you had. All transfer on time without any issues

Your stay at Ilala Lodge. Very nice place

Your stay at Chobe Safari Lodge Very nice place

Your stay at Sango Camp Wonderful atmosphere and service.

Your stay at Oddballs' Camp.  They proposed us a facility apparently very nice but full of bats, lizards and wasps. So I asked for the tent 2x2 and they gave me it.

Your stay at The Safari Club SA nothing special but it was just for sleeping.

Your stay at Casa Rex.  Wonderful staying that has to be integrated with excursions and extra activities.
For my next trip to African I will contact you for sure.

Sorry about the delay in this response. I can report excellence on all counts. We spent two nights at Little Kwara and two at Lagoon. Staff at both camps were first class. The principal guide at Little Kwara, Hobbes, is one of the very best safari guides I have ever encountered. I would also commend the catering and camp management staff, especially at Little Kwara.
Flight connections were well organised and ran like a clock. I was considerably impressed.
We are now looking much further North. Does Island Safari run anything in Rwanda or Uganda?

I am very satisfied with the organisation of the trip, everything worked well.

Booking process was easy and good supported, also for special wishes

The transfers were very well oranised. The transfer person was always waiting for us, no delays, no problems

Moremi Crossing is very well oranised, good guides, good service, charming staff

Maun Lodge was fine. There was a problem because they just booked a single bed room for my friend and me, and no double bed room was available any more. In the end they solved it with updating the room for the same price. This was a fine solution for us

Thank you for your support, the vacation was a great experience!

Everything went off like clockwork.  The Cessna 210’s were where Claudia planned them to be and went where we were expected to arrive. Mapula Lodge is a gem, I am not sure where it is in the Delta (if anyone has coordinates I would appreciate it) but it was very nice indeed.  One has to wonder just how they support something so remote as Mapula. It has to be a major logistical nightmare. My hat is off to the Mr. Singh who owns the place (I just got his name, he was not there) for employing the guide “Matt” - Mathangwang and the site manager Dhu Dhu both of who were very professional. The moroko boat tour is not to be missed. Also the game drives are very special as the Land rovers swim from island to island and go off road and even push down brush in order to track lions.  The food was good and the rooms are very pleasant especially when you consider they are built around trees and termite mounds.
Elephant Valley is nice as well and so is Chobe Park.  Chobe, however, is a park with the crowds of Land Rovers one gets in parks.  Elephant Valley does a good job in a tough location. Elephant Valley is a bit more of a tourist mill than Mapula when it comes to the game drives and the guides were not even close to the skill of Matt at Mapula.
The Royal Livingstone is a beautiful hotel although shortly they will undergo a needed overhaul to update facilities and add Wi-Fi and cable TV to the rooms. It is nicer than the Zambezi Sun but if we could have got into the Victoria Falls over in Zimbabwe it would have been better.  The best part of the Royal Livingstone is their very helpful staff and the awesome view of the river.
If anyone asks about riding the Elephants please advise them to do so. The ride is great fun and very well done indeed.  We did not select to “Walk with the Lions” or pet the Cheetahs and heard later from those that did that this was not as nice as advertised. The handlers beat the lions and there were flies all over the tourists.  We had figured since Siegfried and Roy in Las Vegas got bit by animals they raised from birth then why risk it, the tragedy is waiting for its time to happen while “walking with the Lions” or petting the Cheetahs.
We did make a reservation change and that went well and was without a hitch.  All in all, I will recommend Island-Safari and Claudia to folks who ask with whom they should book a visit in Southern Africa.

All the emails sent, questions made, ideas changed were worth!
This was the second time I travelled with Island-Safari and I´ll recommend again to everyone.
I must tell you that every detail was not forgotten.
We loved loved loved loved loved Muchenje. The best sunset ever!
Victoria Falls Hotel is amazing! Austere!
All the transfers were on time, just a little delay in Kazangula Border (Botswana side).
So, everything was perfect. I knew already but my group didn´t. And now they can say they knew the real Africa with style and organization.
Thank you once again and hope I contact you again soon!
Kindest regards,

Stay at Imbabala was fantastic though couldnot travel to chobe as had only zimbabwe single entry visa- the embassy at Delhi doesnot give multiple visa which is really stupid - a zambezi lodge was really good but small rooms Transfers were perfect

We received excellent service from both Island Safari and Victoria Falls Hotel!  We do appreciate your service.
We especially appreciated that Island Safari always responded promptly to our e-mails.
Vic Falls Hotel staff were a real pleasure.  All really seemed to work together to make guests feel welcome.

We are now home in tasmania australia we really wanted to keep travelling but all good things have to come to an end sadly. We thoughly enjoyed every aspect of our time in Botswana
When we filling our questionaires we really couldn't think of anything negative. Our guides were brilliant couldn't fault them. All our camp sites were terrific we saw masses of game .When we stayed in lodges a few times they were great and very well timed. Bush Ways were excellent nothing was a problem.Thankyou so much for giving us all a wonderful time.I will certainly reccomend you when I can.

I also would like to thank you for your arrangement. I enjoyed myself very much with the tour.

The service you received from Island-Safari.com staff during the booking process and during your tour.

It was very good and prompt. Honestly, I sent emails to other two companies for my holiday but one has never replied and another one replied slow, delayed. So I decided to contact with you only.

Your Lion Safari with Bush Ways Safaris
It was brilliant! The tour was covered places where I wanted to go like the Pan, Okavango Delta and National parks. Camping was excited because I could sleep close to wild animals. It was completely different from staying nice lodges. I had a wonderful experience. The staff at Bush Ways Safari has enough experience to give us nice guide.
After the tour, some of my friends asked me about my holiday, I recommended the camping tour to them!
I hope you keep giving good service and make travelers happy!
Warm regards,

The stay at Royal Livingstone Hotel was superb.

More than happy to provide feedback:

The service received from Mandy was first rate and, along with price offered, was the principle reason for booking with you.

The transfers all worked very well and the help at Johannesburg airport was very useful.

Your stay at Baine's Camp – a great place with great staff and guide. Very good game drives.

Your stay at Lagoon Camp – best guides, food and accommodation (particularly water and electricity) not at same level as others though. Great game drives.

Your stay at Chobe Chilwero Lodge – great accommodation and food with good guides. Found park restrictions (I.e. no off-road) limited our enjoyment of game drives though.

Your stay at Tongabezi Lodge – great accommodation, wonderful staff and food. Some special touches thrown-in made the stay even better. Don't bother going over to Zimbabwe!

Your stay at The Safari Club SA – more like a 3 star than a 4 star. Accommodation and staff just not up to scratch and food was lousy.

Hope this is helpful.
Kind regards,
Glen Lucken

Not sure how I'm supposed to feedback to you if it's via email or a website. Either way I'll give it to you here:

1) Service received: 5/5 - Excellent - Claudia responded rapidly, answered all questions, helped explore all options and the bookings and transfers were all very well executed. I was also very satisfied with the hotels/camps/lodges you propose on your website (at least those I went to were great!).
2) Transfers: 4/5 - Very Good - overall the transfers went very smoothly. We were expected everywhere and there were no delays. Only area that could be improved was at arrival where we ran to get out of the plane first so as to not queue at the visas, but then we had to wait 30 mins outside for the other guests. A bit rough after a 20h trip and the night in the plane.
3) Sinadebezi: 5/5 - Excellent - This place is magical with outstanding service, kind and attentive staff, and fabulous food. We were well received, the activities were well organized, the place is charming, and the quality of the service excellent. Only item that could be improved are plugs in rooms to recharge batteries & a reading light for the night. A perfect place to relax !
4) Xakanaxa Camp : 5/5 - Excellent - Beautiful place in the heart of the Okavango, great for Game viewing and a perfect place to relax and disconnect. The managers and staff were fabulous, they offered a genuine and personalized service always ready to accommodate each guest. We particularly enjoyed: i) the fact that a min of Electricity was used, ii) dinner was around the main table with the staff, iii) the guides were knowledgable, and iv) the food excellent (especially for such a remote place).

Thanks again to Claudia for organizing this trip - I would definitively re-book through island safari and would recommend to friends.

It was a pleasure dealing with your company from the outset.  The booking process was easy and hassle-free and you were extremely prompt in getting back to me each time I had a query.
We were met by a very hospitable representative, Study, at Livingstone airport, and he was very helpful in getting us booked onto the evening river cruise that same evening.
My family loved staying at the Zambezi Sun and congratulated me on my choice of hotel!  All in all, the 2 day break at Vic Falls was a once in a lifetime experience for my family from England, Kenya and Chile and they really enjoyed themselves.
Thank you and I will definitely use your company again if the occasion arises.
Best regards,

We were very happy with our experience with Island Safari. Everything went very smoothly from the moment we got off the plane in Livingstone. We definitely plan to use you all again next time we go to Africa.  Please see my comments to your questions below.

The service you received from Island-Safari.com staff during the booking process and during your tour. - Excellent

The transfers you had. – Excellent everything was very smooth

Your stay at Savute Elephant Camp – The rooms were beautiful, but the shower temperatures do not regulate very well, it is freezing cold one minute & scalding hot the next, the service is poor, and the food is marginal. Not at all what you’d expect for the price you pay.

Your stay at The Royal Livingstone Hotel – Excellent, the hotel is beautiful and the service is excellent!!
All the best,
Valerie Palmquist

September 2011
We arrived back safely from the Southern African safari and we would like to let you know that we had a great safari.
Even though it was a challenge finding lions and leopards, there were lots of other animals like elephants, hippos, giraffes and
buffalos, kudus and zebras that we saw in the areas we visited.
All the selected hotels and lodges were good and the services offered were also up to the standard we were expecting. Maybe
Apart from Kalahari Desert Camp that was full of amateurs who didn’t know what to do when a client is around. And a manager
who couldn’t differentiate between a client and buddy.
The only shock we had was that Kwara Camp and Kalahari Desert Camps are out of Mobile Phone service area. Which means we could not receive or make calls. So we had to switch the phones off and enjoy the hospitality plus the game drives. After a day we got used to the life without mobile phones. But had we known about that earlier we would have informed our friends and relatives
in advance that we wouldn’t be able to communicate with them during the time we were in the two camps. However the hospitality and service in Kwara was very good.
For your information, please note our feedback about Kalahari Desert Camp. The tents are well designed and clean but the
location isn’t very good for those who are interested in different types of animals. It is out of the National Reserve and far from the entrance gate. And by the time you get to where animals gather, it is almost 10am. And in order to get back to the Camp early enough for dinner time you have to leave at around 3pm or 4pm, which means you have to do your full day game drive during the hottest hours of day from 10am to 3pm. During that time, you rarely see any animals as they are all avoiding the abnormally hot temperatures. Of course, we could see few daring animals like the springbok and Gemsbok.
We suggest that if you were to book clients in a camp near Karahari Desert, maybe you should choose one that is inside of the National reserve. That way guests may have enough time to enjoy early morning and evening game drives instead of the full day game drives when animals tend to be active.
All in all, we would like to thank you for a successful safari, well arranged and with enough time to see around. We really had a
good time. And hopefully visit again in future.
Thank you very much.

First, Mandy is fantastic : kind, patient, she has answered at my (too) many questions during few months, even on saturday or sunday...

At Johannesburg airport, someone waited us. Great service to accompany us in the airport.

Okuti camp is confortable, on a nice place. The food is very good.

Sangho camp is less confortable, but it was enough and the drivers are more enthusiastic.

Pom Pom camp is confortable, on a nice place, with good food.

Lagoon camp is the more confortable, on a very nice place, with good food. A good choice after the Delta of Okavango.

We have seen lions and leopards in each camp. So, it was great.

For me, two nights in each camp is the good choice.

With kind regards.

As far as feedback is concerned, I can only tell you I cannot fault Island-Safari staff for anything. I could not have had better service from Mandy who proved to be very efficient on every level: fast, responsive, making good suggestions, friendly, customer oriented, listening to client's needs, prompt to question problems and come back with answers, .... well GREAT in one word! I would have no problem booking with you again and can only recommend your good services to everyone and would be happy to have Mandy as the one sorting it all out again. Thank you.

The transfers we had worked out fine. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the lady who picked us up in Johannesburgh but she was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and informed us well on all we needed to know. As for the other transfers on the tour, they were fine. Everything worked as planned and we have nothing to complain about regarding the transfers.

Stay at the Safari Club SA was not that great given the fact that they never really managed to make the heating work properly and we were really frozen all night. The place is OK but nothing really special, the bathroom is pretty poor and the room in general feels like not well looked after. It's OK for being not far from the airport just for one night!
Our stay at Serowe Hotel was nice. Room was clean and comfortable. Only a bit of long wait for hot water in bathroom but in general a good quiet place to stay with nice staff, reasonable and good restaurant.
Nata Lodge has got excellent accomodation and facilities as well as everything we need for organising good excursions with in the pans. We had a good time in Nata, just a bit let down by the food which is ordinary plus the fact they had not received their meat delivery for the 1st two evenings we had dinner there!
Royal Tree Lodge was a suggestion from Mandy since the lodge I had asked for initially was not available. Shame we had only one night there and arrived too late to take part in excursions or visit the place. It is quite grand and comfort was well appreciated after our 2 nights camping on Lekhubu Island! Staff is nice and it is a peaceful character place well away from all the bustle of Maun. Tents are nice and you have a nice feel of being like in the bush! Shame the food is not to the standard of the accomodation and is quite average.
Can't fault Lebala Camp, it was our second time there and we still find it the best camp around. Breakfast is the best one can have, with traditional porridge cooked on bushfire. Accomodation is great and one really feels like being in the bush.... Staff is excellent, friendly and always caring. Food is delicious and plenty. Game is excellent whether in Summer when we were last time or this time in winter. Also reasonably priced for an excellent accomodation

Hope this feedback helps and I will be pleased to deal with Island-Safari again in future. Many thanks for providing such a good service and coming up with the best quote.

We were totally satisfied with all of the plans made for us by Island Safaris.  The Khaya Guesthouse was a particularly lovely surprise and we hope to return next year.  Elize, as always, proved to be 100% efficient and competent and there were no unpleasant surprises.  We would, and have, recommended her services to others.

I´m very pleased with everything actually! Very nice that you came with recommandations of lodges and the safaris.

One of our transfers didn´t go as planned; we were supposed to travel by car from Kruger park to Vilankulo in Mosambique, but instead we got a flight from kruger to vilankulo and that was actually much better. The reason why was because it would have been a very long trip for us and specially the driver and you thougt the roads were very bad.. So driving all the way to vilankulo is a little bit long..but we learned from people travelling that the roads aren¨t that bad.so driving to example Maputo would not be a problem. But we are greatful for your assistance with the flight and we felt safe travelling under your assistance!

Our stay at outlook lodge was good. Very nice people working there and it was a nice lodge. The only thing was that it was very cold in the lodge. we didn´t want to sit in the "livingroom" because it was so cold. The morning with the breakfast was also freezing!

Our tour with outlook safaris was great! can´t say anything else than that we loved it!!! Specially thanks to the  nice guides, Hielke, Kylie and  Mike!!

We had a great time in south africa!
kind regards

I will take the freedom to answer and copy Michal so she can add to it.
In general - your service level and coordination were excellent (not less then that ), congratulations and many thanks. The only place that we had missunderstanding was at the Oddballs' where they asked for additional 800 Pula for the park fees at the camping. We refuse to pay this significant amout based on the document we had from you and they dropped the case.

The service you received from Island-Safari.com staff during the booking process and during your tour. very good and effective. (Ms. Elize)

The transfers you had. All worked fine

Your stay at Planet Baobab We have asked for that and you added it. If we had to do it again we would have skipped that part including the Pan. It is not up to the league of the alternatives. It was our mistake.

Your stay at Oddballs' Camp Very good and friendly. The two three days / two nights camping was very educative and pleasant

Your stay at Elephant Valley Lodge Probably the best choice ! we needed at that time a bit of civilized conditions and got it there

Your stay at Ilala Lodge good but too long due flights ..

Your stay at The Safari Club SA should  be used find better  alternative
Shalom Green

I agree 100% with my husband's letter it was indeed very professional.
As for the Pan - it might be an alternative during the migration (wet season) for the dry season it's not worth the effort.
With regard to Ilala (victoria falls) - it's a very good and pleasant hotel, however, if the prices are similar then Victoria Hotel is much more interesting (according to the published rates Victoria Hotel is even cheaper).

Island Safari; I am happy to tell you about my experience.
The 2 tops are Pom Pom and Moremi Crossing.  These are 2 of the most beautiful places I have ever been.  The tents were perfect.
The food at Pom Pom was better but both were at the top. I can provide more details if you would like.  The dining rooms and general shared spaces were lovely.  The staff members were superb.  The guides were very knowledgeable, kind, patient, and friendly.  They tried to approach animals to our advantage with the sun at our backs whenever possible for great pictures.  Luckson might be one of the best guides I have had.  I have been on 17 - 18 safaris.  In Chobe, they were not to this level yet.  Accomodations at Chobe Safari Lodge were delightful too.  The food was not my favorite but I figured out to go early while the meat was not overcooked and tough.
The only place I did not care for was the Zambezi Sun.  The pre-fab poured cement giant hotel is not the type of place I like.  The room and decor was hideous and cheap.  The evening buffet looked awful.  The room service food was exceptional-which was the opposite of most places.  All that said, the open access to Vic Falls made up for the accomodations.
Transfers were great except for one.  The last one form Chobe to the airport did not show up.  It was not a problem, as they just put me in one of their vans.  The plane service was wonderful.  All the pilots were friendly, informative and on time.
Island Safari interactions were all helpful, timely, and pleasant.
Thank you for following up on my latest adventure.  I will bring more people and go to Pom Pom and Moremi Crossing again and again.

My wife and I want to say thank you.
Thank you for your patience and kindness.
Our travel was great.
Okuti and Pom Pom are camps confortable on a nice place. Sango is more simple but it was enough. Lagoon is the more confortable.
Three camps in the Delta and one near Namibia was a good choice. To be in Moremi reserve and also in private concessions was also a good choice.
Thank you for all.
With kind regards.

I made the booking with Liza and Mandy, both of them were very fast, professional and helpful.

The transport was always on time.

The Royal Livingstone Hotel and the Victoria Falls Hotel accomodation just superb.

The accomodation and transport to and from Chobe Safari Lodge was very good, although my customers have complained about the food quality at the lodge. This is the only issue which in the future you might make a little better.

Anyway, I will definitely cooperate in the future with Island-Safari.

Once again - A BIG THANK YOU!
Martin Ponikowski

September 2011
Because this was our second visit to Okuti, we can compare from a couple of years ago.  I can't say enough about how our trip was organized.  It was excellent, everything worked as you said it would in your literature.  It was a pleasure to be met at the airport in Maun and helped through immigration and on to our charter flight to the camp.  Those processes sometimes can be unnerving for travelers.  I don't remember having any easier booking process than what you provided.  I was especially impressed when you took it upon yourselves to always do our Air Botswana booking.
Camp Okuti had not changed, service, food and facilities are outstanding and fun to stay in.  We were not as happy with the  traversing area as the water has become a serious issue in the past two years.  We didn't feel our guide worked at finding animals for us, he was substituting from another camp.  The water may be a problem for Okuti in the coming years.  I would probably not pick Moremi as a destination for future trips.
Hope this is info you were seeking.

The service you received from Island-Safari.com staff during the booking process and during your tour. Excellent – thanks to Mandy and the team!

The transfers you had. All went smoothly, met everywhere and assisted with flights etc

Your stay at The Safari Club SA
Very convenient and comfortable, friendly staff. The bus driver dropped us off at the wrong terminal for our flight to Cape Town, additional training required maybe?

Your stay at Little Kwara Camp
Loved it – particularly liked the fact that all the staff were black and very friendly, facilities were excellent - game very good

Your stay at Muchenje Safari Lodge
Chobe was a good contrast to the Delta – enjoyed seeing the larger herds of animals. The NP opening times are restrictive and not being able to get off road a problem – nothing you can do about that! Lodge very high standard, guides good except for the walking safari (little interaction, sharing of knowledge). Staff very helpful  with the lost luggage saga. Enjoyed the opportunity to visit the local community and school.

Your stay at Victoria Falls Hotel
Not our kind of place – interesting insight into colonial times and well located but wouldn’t stay there again. Too big and impersonal.

Your stay at Mfuwe Lodge, Your stay at Chamilandu
The Bushcamp company is excellent. Mfuwe Lodge very high standard, great location, we had our best guide there.  Chamilandu was a stunning setting, wonderful accommodation, the hide a great addition to watch animals at the lagoon. Really enjoyed walking safari – would have liked an extra day. Friendly staff provided a lovely birthday experience.  Another option for guests might be an opportunity to contribute in some way or learn more about the conservation/community projects that the company is involved with locally. The contrast in habitat as compared to Botswana camps was good, so glad we included Zambia.  (still working on photos – we saw in excess of 100 bird species over the holiday).
I am aware that Ross has thanked Mandy for all her help re tracking our luggage, but your concern for us and action on our behalf was sincerely appreciated – we will definitely recommend your company to other people wanting to visit game parks in Africa. We so much preferred this method of organising a holiday as compared to travelling with a tour company – we met a whole range of great people at the 4 camps which added to the experience.

We are well back in Switzerland and I would like to answer your request about Chobe Safari Lodge.
Reception: even a little bit too much informations at once but friendly
Room: super, spacious, but no fridge, no real wardrobe
Restaurant: service partionally too slow but very friendly - 20 minutes to get a toast sandwich at bar area
Activities: super morning drives with excellent guides, boat cruise (we booked one more) the first was okay, the second one not very good - boring
Vic Falls tour - thanks to the excellent guide (early departure) we had only 3/4 h
to wait at the Zimbabwe border - terrible procedure at only one entry counter
This is our view to Chobe Safari Lodge - overall a good experience; recommendable to others.
Thanks for the assistance of Island Safari, especially Carien and best regards

With pleasure, for the second time, I have to share my appreciation for an excellent tour.
Fast answers, availability over the phone and mails, professionalism, I found a great service, planned in Just a few hours by Louise.
We Are very demanding, but everything was on time, in the quality expected.
Absolutely you will be my agency for my next african trips!!! Do you do Tanzania as well?

First of all we had a great time in Southern Africa. Below is my comments.
The service you received from Island-Safari.com staff during the booking process and during your tour
I am very satisfied with your service. Claudia responded to my e-mails promptly and I thought everything was done in an efficient and professional manner. I do not hesitate to recommend your service to the others.
The transfers

We had no problems in every place.
Your stay at Mfuwe Lodge
Very nice and well maintained. Relaxing view from the room balcony. No need to go out for safari - animals are coming to the water area next the lodge. I enjoyed watching animals from the lodge more than actual game drives. I liked the idea of rooms using animal names to identify (not numbering).  Breakfast selection was limited but it was OK because it was in a rush to eat just before going for safari. Lunch and dinner good.
Your stay at Muchenje Safari Lodge
Again very nice and well maintained. Wonderful owners and friendly staff. All meals are well prepared.
This is not the Lodge's matter. But I would like to tell you what happened to us when we crossed the border from Botswana to Zimbabwe.
We left the Lodge at 09:00am for Kasane airport. From there the transfer company took us for immigration formalities. We arrived at the Zimbabwe immigration around 10:30am. There was a very long line of travelers waiting to enter Zimbabwe. We had to wait outside under the strong sun (no shades) for 2 hours and in the small immigration room packed with travelers for another 2 hours. It looked like we arrived at the Zimbabwe immigration at the worst time.  After us, not many travels were arriving.....  I do not know if it happened just for this particular day we were there or it was like this during the high season. Anyway, it took us almost a whole day to reach Victoria Falls and it was really a waste of time. If travelers want to cross the border from Botswana to Zimbabwe during the high season, I think you might want to recommend travelers either to arrive early in the morning or to arrive after 3:00pm in the afternoon, in order to minimize a waiting time at the border.
Your stay at Ilala Lodge
Nice and clean room. Helpful staff. Good location for us (within a walking distance to the Falls and the border)
Your stay at The Safari Club SA
I did not know this hotel until Claudia suggested. It was very nice place. I liked the living room with a bar upstairs. I was a bit surprised with self-claiming system for bar consumption. They still trust travelers. Hope they keep having honest travelers only.
Best regards,
Kayoko Miyazono

August 2011
The Victoria Falls Hotel is fantastic.

Whenever we visit the Victoria Falls, we will stay at your hotel
Best regards

The holiday went very well and I would offer the following feedback:-
1) the service we received from Island- Safari was great, specifically from Carien who was exceptional. In particular she resolved all queries promptly and effectively and I was hugely relieved to be able to reach her directly one hour before our departure when we were panicking about not having secured visas. She knew the detailed answer to our queries on this and was able to reassure us - great service.
2) The transfer from the Royal Livingstone to the airport that you arranged worked very well - prompt and efficient.
3) The Royal Livingstone was great. Obviuously it is an expensive hotel but the the location, the sevice and the general ambiance were second to none.
Many thanks

August 2011
just back at home it's a pleasure for me to write a feedback:

At Oddballs' Camp everything was fine!

We liked the white (!) linnen on the beds, the really clean tent and the nice, private bathroom with cold and warm water.

The food was excellent, the staff very friendly and Pony did a very good job for us. We had decided not to go in the bush and staying the whole time at the camp. So she had to organize a lot, because a group wanted to come and there were not enough tents for accomodation!
But- no problem. Pony managed it.

Our poler Nico was friendly and knew a lot about wildlife and nature - and he liked telling stories about the animals in the bush. Amazing! We had two stunning whole-day-trips with the mokoro. Phantastic!!

The flight back to Maun was a little bit late, but we caught the connection flight to Windhoek on time, by running through the airport!

We had beautiful days at Oddballs' and will recommend the camp to all our friends!

Best regards!

I cannot sing the praises of Island-Safari and every aspect of the trip enough.  Every single element of the trip regarding the transfers was perfect.  Further, the trip was well conceived in the order of visiting the camp and lodges, ending with Muchenje and the most sightings of wildlife.  Perfect.  The food was superb with the first two lodges (Xakanaxa Camp and Xugana Island) being the best.  All of the guides were extremely knowledgeable and helpful with Water (I) at Xakanxa being the absolute best.
I would highly recommend both your services and the camp and lodges that you arranged.

In response to your request for feedback I wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic trip.  Everything actually went quite smooth and we enjoyed the people we met as well as the things we saw and did.

The booking process was a little slow as it was done via email from around the world, but everything fell into place before leaving.

The transfers were excellent.  We enjoyed each of our drivers and they safely escorted us through border crossings, which might have otherwise been scary places for us.

The Zambezi Sun Resort worked out well.  The location was excellent.  The room and the food were decent for the price paid.

The Mowana Safari Lodge was beautiful.  We had a delightful room with a great view.  We enjoyed the food and the environment very much.

Overall we have no complaints and are thankful for a safe and enjoyable journey.

I would like to say, My booking with Island Safari was a great experience.  Liza was the person I kept in contact with.  She answered all of my questions and was extremely patient with my request.  I am 100% satisfied with the service.
My stay at the Stanley and Livingstone was exquisite.  It was by far the most luxurious place I have ever stayed at.  The service and staff was impecable.  It was perfect for me.  If I go back to Vic Falls, I will definitely stay there again.
Thank you for everything.

In responding to your request to make some feedback, I am informing you as follows:

The service you received from Island-Safari.com staff during the booking process and during your tour. I was satisfied with services provided to me. I especially appreciated your prompt responses.

The transfers you had. There was no problem regarding transfers.

Your stay at Kwara Camp
I was a bit disappointed to the following points;
(1)   When we arrived at the camp airstrip, there was no one waiting for us. We had to wait for some time for picking us up.
(2)   Dinner began serving at 8:15 P.M. in the first evening and at 8:30 in the second evening ( waiting until the last guest come to the table). As I complained that they were too late, they served third day’s dinner starting at 7:30 P.M.
(3)   One of their guide was a bit arrogant or impertinent. He gave us not enough useful information although he talked a lot.
Your stay at Xakanaxa Camp
We enjoyed our stay at Xakanaxa camp.
Those are  my frank feeling. I hope they will help you.

July 2011
The service you received from Island-Safari.com staff during the booking process and during your tour. - excellent, always on top of things and very quick in replying to our emails, took time to understand what we wanted and etc. really good. 5/5

The transfers you had. All arrangements, transfers and etc all good…except just as a matter of info, when I arrived on 1st july in JNB, they thought I was arriving 5pm i/o 5am. And also nobody at vilanculos from lodge, but again, not a big deal at all. 4/5

Your stay at The Safari Club SA. Very convenient, friendly and superb breakfast. Simple but nice rooms. Shame it is on the landing path of the aircrafts. Quite nosy. 3/5

Your stay at Sango Camp. Everything excellent. 5/5…game was scarce but that is nature

Your stay at Pom Pom Camp. We preferred sango as a camp and pom pom was also very nice, excellent guide, good food, friendly people and superb location. Lucky on game as well. Beautiful sceneries and more activities. But lack of flexibility on timing and brunch at 11am not good timing at all. Break from 11 to 4pm way too long. 4/5

Your stay at Benguerra Island Lodge. THE big disappointment of the trip. Very friendly people and great food, superb cabana and etc. but not only activities were very very expensive, but we could not do almost any (apart from 1 dive and 2 horse rides) due to difficult weather and unadapted boat equipement. The fishing boat was probably 21 feet long without a proper cabin so you could not fish when even little raining. Dive boats not adapted to swell of more than 2.5m so could not get to the diving reefs. We knew water would be not warm, we knew it was winter, we knew could be windy but when you pay that price and when you have to pay 600 usd for half day fishing on a 21 feet boat, this is unacceptable. We had the feeling the owners were concentrating on the “villa projects”. Cabanas were great but you could see that in few years time it will go down as they are not putting a lot of effort in maintaining them to the standards of what they show as a rack rate. True price is related to the place being remote, but when a casita is 1000 per night, you need to make sure you keep up to standards. One of the owner was on the island during our 6 nights stay, did not see him once as he was dealing with the villas, which tells you a lot about how they see customers. Because of lot of rain, aircraft could not land, they told us either we go by boat or by helicopter but by paying an extra. I told them it was unacceptable to have to pay for extra when we are even responsible for it and after having suffered from bad weather for a week. We said ok, we take the boat but you pay us back the difference. She finally had to call the joburg office for them to accept the chopper at no extra costs. Wine was seriously overpriced. 7 times Joburg price.

To recap, excellent service from IS, special warm thanks to Mandy (will definitely go through IS again without a doubt and recommend IS to any friends/family wanting to go on safari). Incredible experience on safari, it was what we were looking for, a mix of landscape between the 2 camps and could have been just perfect if pom pom could be more flexible and adapt to the type of customers they have (oh yes, we were disappointed not to have at least one bush breakfast somewhere organized).
But benguerra lodge, would never go back there again as we really feel it is way too overprices and we did not get value for our money given the fact that we went there mainly for fishing and diving and could not do it. We however had a good time thanks to staff, great butler Alda (what a lovely lady) and location of the place…but could be so excellent if the mentality was less “let’s rip the customers off” and if they could deliver in terms of equipments. The lodge would tell you that they never had such a weather and etc but when you talk to staff, it is not that true. They do have strong winds when moons there and diving is then difficult. And that does not stop them from having a proper canopee on fishing boat and have more accessible prices.

I must firstly reply with expressing my gratitude. In todays upside down and rushed life we desperately need more people like louise, who arranged this for us. Please pass our thank yous on.
I wrote comments into your mail, so please see below.

The service you received from Island-Safari.com staff during the booking process and during your tour. Smooth and without any hurdles

The transfers you had. n/a

Your stay at Khama Rhino Sanctuary Rustic, but just what we needed to remind us that we are now in the bush. They arrived at 20h00 to make a fire for our shower water!

Your stay at Tamalakane Safari Lodge Magnificent venue and service

Your stay at Planet Baobab Excellent venue and service

Your stay at Kubu Lodge Excellent venue and service

Your stay at Ilala Lodge Excellent venue and service

Your stay at Nata Lodge Great venue, poor service. Unfortunately we asked (3 times) for the extra bedroll/mattress to be brought to the kids room,  but this never happened and the kids ended up sharing a bed.

To summarise, I will not hesitate using you again and have shared my views with all who enquire about our trip.
Thank again and well done!

Thank you for your e-mail.  Dealing with each point in turn:
1.    The service we received from Island-Safari.com was excellent.
2.    The Transfers were excellent.
3.    The Royal Livingstone Hotel is a beautiful building but the staff do not live up to the hotel and certainly neither does the food - two areas that they need to radically improve.

I have nothing but very positive things to say about working with Island Safari, and Louise in particular. Additionally, Sausage Tree was fantastic to us and I would highly recommend them (and Dan, our host, especially) to anyone who would ask.

Louise was extremely helpful in trying to get everything set up for us. She remained flexible in my times to reach her and always responded promptly. I booked the deal with less than a weeks notice and it was very well done. The only problem I had during the whole ordeal was with my plane from JNB to Hoedspruit thru SAA, but that had nothing to do with Louise or IS. Even with this problem that caused me to miss my initial flight, Louise was very helpful to me and Dan was extremely accommodating as well. On a side note, please warn future guests as far as working with SAA. They have been miserable to me in many ways during my stay in South Africa. If you want more detail, I can provide it, but I don't think that is of major concern to IS.

Sausage Tree was excellent in all aspects. The rooms were very nice with an outdoor shower and personal balcony with hammock (which was too cold to use). The food was fantastic! Charlie the chef was very good with everything he made. Not to mention the amazing game drives. Dan was extremely knowledgable and was fantastic, along with our tracker Timba, at finding a bunch of animals. Their experience at tracking paw prints, and understanding things like wind patterns led us to a herd of 150 buffaloes as well as several other great animals. Plus, we had great sunset wine stops! Dan and Timba also went way out of their way to take us on an extra late night game drive to find a pride of 14 lions on our last night since we were unable to find them on any other drive.

Lastly, Louise, Dan, and the rest of the Sausage Tree team helped immensely in the last second change of mind I had to propose to my girlfriend while on the safari. I called Louise 30 mins before leaving for the airport to discuss this with her and she immediately contacted Dan and arranged it. From there, Dan set up a beautiful private dinner with champagne and even willingly videotaped it for us. Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend Island Safari and Sausage Tree to anyone.

We had a great trip thank you and I will try and give you the feedback you need in a short sentence or two.
Island Safari staff were great through the whole process including meeting us at the airport to make sure we got away easily. Easy to deal with, clear information, good advice.
Transfers were easy including the Vic Falls Day. Difficult time at the border but not anything wrong with passports or visas - only slow and cumbersome process !
Chobe Safari Lodge had mixed blessings. The room was good other than the mouse (story below), the food reasonable but on par for price. Game drives wonderful and well run, river trip great.
The mouse story. We had a noisy mouse in our ceiling space in the room keep us awake on night one and reported it to hotel staff in the morning. Not attended to. Reported it 4 times over 3 days until they sent a person, ladder and mouse trap. But mouse was still alive and noisy when we left. No offer of another room made , no apologies, no real attempt to solve the problem we thought. We gave up asking and called the mouse Mickey and had a good laugh instead. But it tainted our view of the service response from Chobe Safari Lodge staff.

The service you received from Island-Safari.com staff during the booking process and during your tour:
Excellent! This is the 3rd time I’ve booked with you and I’ll most likely do it again. Very competent staff, extremely helpful and friendly. Thank you Carien!!

The transfers you had.

I wasn’t aware that we would have private transport. We would have been happy sharing the bus with other clients. Otherwise very friendly drivers. Always on time.

Your stay at Ilala Lodge
Still as nice as it was in 2005. Although one of the baboons playing on the lawn has lost its tail....
Staff was very very friendly and helpful. That improved compared to 2005. An excellent place to stay. The breakfast buffet itself makes the stay worthwile.
Small drawback: dinner menu doesn’t really appeal anymore after the second night. But as I said, a truly small drawback considering the whole package.
The travel agent from the lodge was also very friendly and efficient.
Highly recommendable!

Your stay at Mowana Safari Lodge
Lovely situated, nice lodge and friendly staff.
So far I have stayed twice at Chobe Safari Lodge, camp ground and river room, but now that they have renovated it (when did that happen?) I would definitely choose the Mowana.
The atmosphere is much nicer there.
Staff was friendly and helpful. The guide for the boat cruises and game drives was very competent and friendly.

So, thanks again for organizing a lovely trip for us!
Kind regards

Sorry you had to prompt us to do this as we fully intended to write to thank Elize for her wonderful assistance and booking of our trip.
We had a wonderful trip; loved Oddballs Enclave, especially finding the manager, Doc, was the same man who looked after us 5 years ago at the original Oddballs camp.  He did say he could have organised us to camp out which Elize didn't think was possible but the fact we only had 2 nights meant it wasn't really feasible. Our guide, MD, was wonderful and we felt very safe with him. We were a bit sad we had to leave Oddballs at 9am as we had hoped to be there till maybe 3pm but I think that sort of timing is in the hands of Delta Air so no reflection on Elize or Island Safari.
We had a lovely time at Pom Pom too, found the camp in better heart than 5yrs ago though personally if people are looking for mekoro trips I would recommend Oddballs and a 3 night minimum there.  Pom Pom is wonderful for game drives and we found our guides excellent. We scored the Honeymoon Tent with a stunning outdoor bath so that was a treat.
Zambezi Sun was a huge contrast but a great place to stay for the falls and the management were very obliging and changed our room so we were next door to our friends.  It is a very clean well maintained hotel, food was great, service excellent, nice to be able to walk through to the falls and see the giraffes, zebra & impala on the path to The Royal Livingstone and elephant just across the water. Elize had given us great information as to the excursions that were available and we chose a couple of boat trips but there is plenty to do at no extra cost, crossing into Zimbabwe was interesting though it did cost to cross the border and then cost again to go down to the falls from that side but well worth it we felt as the views were quite different - but equally WET!!
I hope this is of some help to you and many thanks for making our trip a real pleasure.  We had no problems with any of our flight/drive/boat connections making the journey very relaxed.
Kind regards,
Frans & Susan Weehuizen

Everything worked out beautifully!

We were delighted with the service provided in giving us the wonderful holiday that we hoped for.
The transfers were all very smooth, particularly at Jo'burg where the agent spent time with us dropping off at left luggage and booking us onto the Livingstone flight. The transfer to Chobe was excellent and we appreciated the private ferry across the Zambesi. The flights to and from the delta were also excellent.
The stay at Zambezi Sun was just what we required giving us time to relax after the long flight and enough time to walk around the falls and have a swim in the hotel pool.
Mowana Safari Lodge was very well organised for the activities and we had a lovely room overlooking the Chobe river. The boat safaris were really good and the game drives enabled us to catch some wonderful moments watching lion cubs in a tree, lots of elephant and a leopard amongst many other animals and birds.
The best of all was Pom Pom camp. The setting was glorious, the staff very friendly and the trips into the delta on Moroko and land rover were the highlight of the whole holiday. Having never before had the pleasure of seeing leopard in the wild, we were lucky enough to see leopard every day. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and willing to accomodate our requests. It was really nice that they shared meals with us and we were able to discuss events from the trips and more general topics. The accomodation was far better than expected and the whole stay memorable.
Thank you all very much for organising such a marvellous trip for us.

We enjoyed a lot in this trip.

The service you received from Island-Safari.com staff during the booking process and during your tour. The service was very good.

The transfers you had. No problems, but could be better to know in advance more details about the transfer between Bostwana and Zambia ( several cars, ferry, visas...)

Your stay at Mapula Lodge Mapula was our first step and was really wonderful: the quiet place, no people around..., lodge decoration, food and staff lovely, but few animals in game drives if we compared with other people saw in Moremi or around (lions,leopard..).
Some nigths where really cold, could be good a" hot bottle" (I don't know how you call it ) in our bed, like in Stanley lodge did.

Your stay at Muchenje Safari Lodge the location is great, the safari organization, service and manager perfect, ... and there are a lot of animals and very close in the park !!!  some things in the bathroom of the rooms are getting older.

Your stay at Stanley Safari Lodge

A very nice lodge and very good service
Thanks, and I hope to come back in the future !!

I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for the amazing trip you planned on our behalf. Overall the quality of accommodations, food and staff not to mention the game viewing and the activities..like fishing in a river surrounded by hippos..was outstanding. We were a bit disappointed by Kwara where the facility, the staff and the food was a big let down but the experiences at Chobe and particularly at Lagoon and Tau Pan more than made up for it and Kwando did compensate us for the issues. I really want to thank you especially for sending us to Tau Pan...i think its fair to say that its diversity, vast vistas.big cats and an amazing staff really made an impact. Overall it was the  best holiday of our life and an experience we will long remember...Thanks for all the insight and work on our behalf!!

A great time was had in the Okavango.    Unfortunately Air Botswana had a 2 hour delay in leaving Johannesburg so we got to Sango Camp late.   This however was not your fault.   All the dealings I had with Mandy were extremely helpful and professional.   One of the reasons that I chose Island-Safari was that during my planning stage you were the company that came back to me the quickest and were prepared to do an itinary for me virtually immediately.   We made quite a few changes initially but I always received great service.   After each payment was made I also received prompt notification that the money had been received.
Transfers were great.    The lady was waiting when we arrived at Jo’burg airport and took us through.    All our flights on our “Little planes” were prompt and there were no delays or problems.   So transfers went well.   The pilots were all very friendly.
We really enjoyed Sango Camp and the people there could not have been more welcoming and friendly.   Judge was prepared to take us all over and explained about the area and the animals.   We enjoyed the bucket showers.   It was great to sit at dinner and talk to the other guests who were all from overseas.
Gunn’s Camp was a real privilege and we enjoyed the upgrade.   Facilities were superb and the staff extremely friendly.    All activities were well organized and our guide was very knowledgeable and treated us very well.
Food throughout was great and we were extremely well treated.   I appreciate Mandy recommending the 2 camps that she did as I had no idea where to go.   I only knew that I wanted 2 different camps.   As both camps were very different – one being more land based and the other more water based – she gave us the best of both.   I would recommend your company to friends and have already given your address to someone.
Thank you for a great holiday.

 - The Island-Safari.com staff I interacted with were fantastic!  I received quick responses, answers to my questions and top notch customer service.  I was kept informed during the entire process and appreciated the assistance.
 - The transfer to Zambezi Sun was a friendly no wait transfer that we appreciated.  Leaving Zambezi Sun for the border crossing was also friendly and with no wait with an exceptional guide.  Our boat transfer was waiting for us and a rather quick trip to the other side.  The transfer on the other side was late to arrive and so our boat transfer stayed with us for the wait.  We appreciated the thoughtfulness and patience of our boat guide.  Our transfer to Chobe Safari Lodge was also friendly and a short drive from the river.  The transfer to the airport leaving Chobe was quick and after we were informed the flight was delayed we were allowed to wait at the lodge.  I was pleased the transfers were planned before our trip so that everything was pretty seamless as we travelled.  Every transfer guide was professional and courteous during our time together.
- Zambezi Sun Resort Hotel:  All of the staff were quick to assist the visitors and ensure a speedy check in.  Internet access was available for all visitors which allowed arrival emails to be sent to family in the USA.  Our room was a "typical" hotel room on the main floor.  We called the front desk shortly after sitting down because the air conditioning wasn't working.  Service staff arrived at the room shortly after our call and were able to turn the main power on for the air conditioner to work properly.  Victoria Falls is a (very) short walk away and beautiful.  You can hear the falls thunder from the rooms as well as see zebra grazing on the lawn.  The property and grounds appeared well maintained aside from some mold in the shower.  The breakfast buffet was fairly large and diverse with fresh omelets made to order.  However, we were barely greeted when we walked into the restaurant and often times had to grab the attention of staff for drinks and items you didn't get for yourself.  We ate dinner at the additional restaurant on the grounds rather then the buffet.  The service was prompt and efficient throughout our meals.  We appreciated not only our server but all the staff of the restaurant.
- Chobe Safari Lodge:  Our greeting at Chobe was fast and friendly.  However, we were given a river room instead of a safari room that we booked.  During the check in I was assured that we were given the correct room even though I provided my itinerary that stated safari room.  The room was spacious and had a balcony overlooking the river.  Understandably the river was not viewable since the trees had grown to obstruct the view.  The bathroom could use some updates as some of the tiles and grout were missing.  The shower was spacious but had more mold then the Zambezi Sun Resort Hotel.  Paying for a meal plan was a great idea in theory for this resort.  Breakfast and dinner were no problem, but lunch was a bit of a struggle.  We waited for over 30 min's before getting our own menu's.  When a staff member finally appeared we had to rush to get his attention and have our order taken.  Because of the slow service we weren't able to order food that took long to prepare since we had to rush to our boat cruise.  Our second lunch was slightly better, but still slower then expected.  We enjoyed having local game on the menu and trying new dishes.  Our first boat cruise was a larger boat with several people on board.  The second boat cruise was even better as it was our party (2) and a guide in a smaller boat.  We were able to get much closer to shore and view all the animals we wanted for as long as we wanted to.  Our guide was informative and friendly while allowing us to simply watch and enjoy.  We had two game drives that were also led by guides that were informative and friendly.  We enjoyed seeing the wild dogs on both drives along with lioness and cubs.  Our guides worked hard to ensure everyone enjoyed the drive while being safe.  We saw a lot of animals while staying at Chobe and enjoyed the river view while dining.
- Pom Pom Camp:  This is a beautiful camp with beautiful staff!  We were welcomed to this peaceful setting with friendly smiles and lively singing.  Our "orientation" was delivered succinctly while we refreshed with a drink and wet towel.  The tents are fantastic tents with lovely furniture.  We had the family tent that gave us two bedrooms and a lot of space.  Our porch was close to the water and the tents were situated a good distance apart.  Every meal had wonderfully prepared food and a family feel with all of the guests and staff.  Food and drinks were always available and were much more enjoyable then Zambezi and Chobe.  Max was our guide from arriving at the airport and made the time we stayed perfect.  His love for being a guide, knowledge and sincere friendliness were wonderful and refreshing.  Every game drive showcased the beautiful surroundings and animals.  To name only a few we saw cubs, lioness and a leopard.  The breaks and sundown's were great times to laugh and enjoy the surrounding beauty.  Our mokoro ride was quiet and gave us an opportunity to see the landscape from a different vantage point.  The main building and grounds were well maintained while keeping the authentic feel of camp.
- Sango Camp: Just perfect!  We saw so many animals and ate such wonderful food it was difficult to leave.  OT is such a wonderful person and the most knowledgeable guide.  We feel lucky to have met and spent time with him.  Face is a great guide that was easy to speak with and learn from when we weren't on drives.  The tents had lovely furniture and were nicely decorated.  I enjoyed the environmental friendliness this camp offers and the authentic camp feel.  We were fortunate to hear lions roaring all night one night and see them the next morning.  The food was prepared wonderfully and the chef was one of the happiest people I have ever met.  All of the staff performed several songs and dance on our last night that only added to this cherished experience.  The location of this camp and the local town gives it a small town feel that is welcoming.  This camp was a refreshing stay and exactly what we were looking for.  All the tents and facilities were pristine.  The breaks and sundown's only added to the relaxed yet exciting experience.  I can only say wonderful things about Sango Camp and its staff.
Pom Pom Camp and Sango Camp are exactly what I would want and expect for an African safari.  This was a wonderful and memorable experience for myself and father.  Aside from the wrong room in Chobe Safari Lodge our trip went exactly as our itinerary directed.  We appreciate the knowledge and assistance of Island-Safari.com and hope to work together again.
Thank you,
Andy Becker

1)  The service we received from Mandy with Island-Safari was absolutely the best.  We could not have asked for better service or a better planned vacation.  She paid every attention to detail including where we sat on flights for best views!  She answered all of my many emails with kindness and professionalism.  I will recommend Mandy to anyone I know thinking about a trip to Africa.
2)  All transfers were handled in a professional and timely fashion.
3)  The Safari Club was clean and comfortable and the staff very kind.
4)  The Stanley Safari Lodge was wonderful.  Pascal arranged for all of our trips out around the falls.
5)  Muchenje Lodge was very nice.  We loved our guide Presley.  He was very, very good.  Chobe Park was exceptional.
6)  Lebala Lodge was our favorite for staff.  They were outstanding.  When we left we felt as if we were leaving old friends.  The food was the best of all the lodges.
7)  Pom Pom was very nice.  Staff very nice and the guide was great.
8)  Xakanaxa Camp was our favorite as far as facility goes.  It was without doubt the nicest and our guide Montsou was the very best!  Clean, well thought out, just beautiful.

I have nothing but good comments for all the categories you mentioned.
From the Pick Up to the Airport to Drop Off at the Airport at the end of our trip everything was perfect.
All Pick Ups were on time and the people involved were great.
I would like to a have a special mention for Newton who was with us for most of our itinerary.
He was polite, very knowledgeable and overall extremely friendly.  Can you pass on our thanks to him for making our trip so enjoyable.
The Victoria Falls Hotel was terrific with so much history.
Warm Regards

I have returned to Australia from a fantastic stay at Mowana Safari Lodge …truly amazing destination and I haven’t stopped raving about how wonderful everything was.

Anyway, I would like to email a couple of photos that I promised Mr Chapman, our Tour Guide that took us on the cruise on the river. I have tried to contact him both by mobile phone and also his email address but it bounced back as his writing is hard to read.

Is it okay if I emailed them to you to forward, alternatively, could you please check the email address he gave me and correct it if I have it wrong and I can send them myself

Thank you kindly for your help.

We have just returned home after a simply amazing trip into Botswana with the Paegels. I just want to say thank you so much for your outstanding service. The planning was simply exceptional. We have never had a travel experience where EVERYTHING went exactly according to plan. I'm sure we must accept some measure of good luck, but the itinerary you prepared for us was brilliant in every way and we can't thank you enough. We loved it all. Perfect.
I'm sure we will be returning, so you will no doubt hear from us again.

Our experience with Island Safari - especially Mandy - was always excellent.
Our transfers were always smooth and easy.
Our stays at Lagoon and Lebala were problem free and as expected.
Chiefs was great but had so much water that large parts of the island were not passable.
Ulusaba was a terrific way to end out trip - everything about it was wonderful.
My only suggestion to you is to provide better tip guidelines. The guidelines we got from you were way off the mark - at least for Ulusaba. We were advised by the manager there to tip the guide and tracker together anything from 0 to 500 Rand per day. We have always tipped the guide more than the tracker so this was a surprise, to say nothing of the amount being very much higher than your guidelines. The manager also suggested 0 to 500 Rand per day for the staff - way above your guideline. I would suggest that you get specific guidelines from each camp you send people to so we are not left floundering or under tipping.
Thanks, Nan and Randal Freeman

First let me say we were very pleased with your service and help in organizing our tour.  So much of our trip and tours was planned at the last minute and therefore a bit hectic but your constant attention and help with every detail and our endless questions was so appreciated and we would certainly recommend you to others.  If I may make a suggestion; it was difficult to make decisions about a safari when we had no understanding of distance and travel time involved and it felt like you were not wanting to suggest one over another.  We had been discouraged by someone from taking the Botswana tour due to thenfact that we only had a single entry visa but found out later that it didn't matter and the fee at the border was nominal (which was one of my concerns) and the safari was excellent!  I was so happy we decided to take the risk and go to Botswana.  So may I suggest you be a little more forthcoming in your information as it would help to make a decision when we have no knowledge of details.  We LOVED having both time on the river and on land and hope we can do it again!
Thr tranfers were excellent- thank you so much.  It's nice to know you can depend on someone to help you when you don't know your way around!
As for the stay at Victoria Falls Hotel- I would never stay there again.  It is a lovely place to visit and we enjopyed meals there but had problems with the rooms.  I had to ask to be moved to 3 different rooms before finding one that was not saturated with the smell of cigarette smoke.  I ended up paying for a very expensive room just so I could breathe fresh air!  I would never recommend staying there to anyone but it was a lovely place to visit.  We did however, really like our stay at Ilala Lodge Hotel and would like to stay there again.  That would be our hotel of choice.  We liked the quieter atmosphere, more homey feel.
I hope this information helps.  Thank you again for all your help in making our time in Victoria Falls a wonderful experience.

We enjoyed very much our tour! Everything happened as planned, and we were very satisfied.
The service we received from you during the booking, especially from Mandy, was as excellent as always!
The transfers with Solenta Aviation were perfect, and Mandy was absolutely right about the safety of this company, their pilots and planes.
Our stay at Kanga Camp was very pleasant, and we liked very much the amazing couple running the camp! The service and all the staff are very good.
Thanks again for all your help in organizing our lovely tour.
